We offer very affordable
and educational horsemanship classes to families that are interested in getting involved with horses! We
believe education is the heart of proper horse care, handling, and riding. Our basic horsemanship classes
are from the “ground up,” and are non-riding. The initial classes will be
mostly indoors so weather is not a factor over the winter months.
These classes are offered in two-hour
blocks and are meant to provide useful and important information in a fun, informal format. Although you
may sign up for as many of the blocks as you would like, they are progressive in nature. We start with
basic information about horses generally, and move from there. We will discuss horse psychology, different
breeds, disciplines of riding, the history of the horse, basic horse care requirements, tack uses and maintenance, grooming,
being safe around these large animals, and the realities of the cost of it all if you think a horse in your future.
Participants
will receive handouts with tidbits of important information, reference material, and fun stuff for the adults and kids alike!
Want
to come as a larger group with multiple families? We can accommodate that, too! We can
accommodate a group of up to 20 people. We will provide light refreshments and beverages for your group.
PRICES and SCHEDULING:
Family of up to Four:
1-4 people: $50.00 for each two-hour
block for the entire group. (Each
additional family member is $5.00). For family sessions, we can accommodate up to six family members maximum.
Multi-Family Groups:
Special arrangements may have to be made for multi-family groups, depending on the size. We can accommodate
up to a maximum of 20 people. Larger groups are three hours per block. Prices are for
the entire group.
7-10 people: $80.00
11-15 people: $120.00
16-20 people: $200.00
Please note: Children
must be at least six years of age to participate in horsemanship classes or riding lessons. Releases to
be signed upon arrival for your first class.
We do not have set dates for classes. We schedule based on our availability
and your availability. We offer weekend or evening classes.
Please note, I do have a full-time occupation with hours that are not “regular,”
so my availability does vary.
