Adoptable Horses and Pets

"My dogs forgive anger in me, the arrogance in me, the brute in me.  They forgive everything I do before I forgive myself."

The horses listed on this page are located at Hideaway Hill Farm.
There are several other horses available that are stabled at other locations and are listed on our Courtesy Listings page.  Please check them out, too!  We make every effort to assist others in placing horses that need homes.

Timijin - aka "Timmy"

(pictured below)

We received an email that originated from Mylestown Equine Rescue regarding the seizure of several horses from a New Jersey hack stable.  One of the horses left to be placed was a 15.2 hand Quarter Horse gelding that apparently had a lot of fear issues.  According the information we received, the workers at the stable thought he was crazy and didn't want to go near him; however, Susankelly Thompson from Mylestown enlisted the help of a local trainer, Joe Williams, who went out to assess the horse to see if was salvagable.  Mr. Williams found him to be a nice horse that just needed to gain trust through proper handling.  Mylestone put forth great effort to find someone to take this guy.  We offered to bring him in hear to our rescue, work with him, and place him in an appropriate home.  When I arrived at the facility to pick him up, I was told by his handlers that he was extremely difficult to deal with and no one wanted to go near him.  I did not find that to be the case at all...After spending only about an hour working with him I was able to get him to load onto the trailer all by himself!  He just needs a kind hand...he has obviously been manhandled and not treated very nicely in the past.

I got him home and thought about a name for him.  Then it hit me...TIMIJIN!  I rode a little Morgan cross when I was a kid that looked just like him, so I decided he would be named after him..."Timmy" for short!  He is currently in quarantine and in desperate need of a farrier and dentist.  I will continue to post updates.  I don't anticipate Timmy being up for adoption before summer.

LIBERTY - aka "Libby"

(pictured below)

Liberty arrived at HHF on October 11, 2009.  She is part of a neglect case from Schuylkill County, PA.

Libby's former owner was charged with Cruelty to Animals, Title 18, 5511.  He failed to show for his court date and was subsequently picked up on a warrant.  He has since plead guilty.

Libby is a three year-old paint filly, brown and white in color and she is very friendly!  She doesn't know a darn thing, but she loves attention, so that's a start!   Liberty is becoming much more accustomed to leading, grooming, and basic handling.  She is quite a lovely mover, with long elegant legs and a nice floaty trot.  She is very friendly!  This sweet girl will not be adoptable until any court proceedings are resolved and she has been through Parelli Level 1 On-Line.  If you think you may be interested in her down the road, feel free to contact us and set up an appointment to see her.  We will post when she is available and her adoption fee.

RUSSELL - UPDATE 03/06/10 - ADOPTION IS PENDING!

(pictured below)

Five year-old TB UNRACED gelding, pictured in the four pictures below.  THIS IS AN AWESOME HORSE!!!!  If you are looking for a gorgeous gentle giant to compete in Dressage or have fun with on the trails, this is your boy!  I LOVE him!  Russ is all of 17.0 hands and is UNRACED, no tattoo.  He was in training for racing but bowed his front tendons and never made it to the track (thankfully).  His bows are SET AND HEALED AND HE IS SOUND.  I know there are many horses that go on to have successful jumping careers after bowing their tendons, but I am only adopting him out to someone that won't jump anything beyond a little log on the trail...I just want to play it safe and he is too nice to ask anything of him that could potentially be a problem (I'm a worrier).  This horse is a gorgeous mover and was made for Dressage.  Big and quiet and goes nicely on the trail.  Had him out today all by himself and he was great.  Didn't mind traffic or wildlife and walked along on a nice long rein.  Please no beginners...although he's been very quiet for me, I'm a very experienced rider and this horse is young and green yet.  TALENTED HORSE!  Loads and clips (even his ears!), loves to be groomed and is extremely people oriented.  He loves attention and being doted over.  Is currently turned out with two other geldings, and barefoot for the winter.  Shoes to be put back on the front in the spring.

Russell will be available in the Spring 2010 so that his training can be continued here at HHF.  He is currently going through Parelli Level 1 On-Line.   Will be shown in the Spring.  If you are interested in him, please feel free to set up an appointment to come and see him in the meantime.  ADOPTION FEE:  $1,000.00.   NOTE!  I have had numerous inquiries regarding Russell.  We are accepting applications on him and will be showing him in March.

CANDY

(pictured below)

UPDATE!!!!  CANDY'S ADOPTION IS PENDING!!!!  We are very excited to announce that Dana Point Farm in Lenhartsville will be out to see Candy on Saturday, and we will be attending their open house on Sunday!  THERE WILL BE MUCH MORE TO COME ON THIS!  We are so excited to meet Maria and Gayle!

Candy is a really cute three year-old Welsh pony.  She is the most adorable thing!  Candy does have some very serious trust issues due her not-so-great start in life.  She has come a long way since she came here to HHF in March 2008.  Unfortunately, Candy is not child-safe at this time and is only available to highly qualified and experienced handler.  I think she would make a great competitive driving pony for the right person!  Please contact us if interested.
